It's always exciting when manufacturers release new models, and Hyundai has done a fantastic job with the new Santa Cruz. The Hyundai Santa Cruz is an exceptionally unique compact pickup truck. It's roomy like an SUV, practical like a pickup truck, and distinctive. Its small size, car-like design, and spacious 4-door body give it the convenience and driving qualities of a compact SUV, similar to the Hyundai Tucson.
The Hyundai Santa Cruz debuted as a 2022 model, so there are a few updates for 2023. One notable change is the introduction of the Night trim, which offers a "blackout finish." Additionally, the SEL Premium trim includes the 10.25-inch infotainment system with navigation.
The 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz also has an open bed with a lockable trunk in the back and a tonneau cover that owners can purchase separately. Even though it can't match the brute force of larger, more expensive vehicles, it can tow weight of up to 5,000 pounds.
Five model levels are available for the 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz: SE, SEL, Night, SEL Premium, and the Limited trim. The SE and SEL models are available with both front- and all-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive is standard on Night, SEL Premium, and Limited models.
Standard on the 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz is a 191-hp, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission that propels either the front or all four wheels.
Its numerous unique features include a multipurpose tailgate, lockable under-bed storage, and a composite bed. Front-wheel drive (FWD) comes standard with the base engine, while all-wheel drive (AWD) is an option.

Most individuals prefer the SEL trim because it has the most valuable standard features and additional upgrades. The SEL adds heated mirrors, a power-adjustable eight-way driver's seat with lumbar support to prevent back pain, SiriusXM, Blue Link connectivity, and heated front seats. With this trim, you can get the optional lockable truck-bed tonneau, which is a big deal.

The 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz follows the same styling cues as the Hyundai Tucson and Kona. It's designed to look like a crossover SUV but with a truck bed. Its rugged, rigid design stands out in a crowd and makes it easy to spot on the highway. The SUV-like cabin has comfortable seating for five adults, and a large trunk area holds plenty of cargo.
